Do you believe that a higher power controls our fate or that we choose our own destinies?


"No" is the short answer. I don't believe that there is such a thing as fate or destiny - the world is far more chaotic than that.

I'm a compatibilist.

Edit: And yes, I prefer having free will - it's more likely to get me the things I want.

Let's cut the crap, then: I think that human beings can generally do what they want to or believe they ought to, and that they can be considered responsible (e.g. blameworthy or praiseworthy) if they are doing so.
